Chrome Extension

A sidebar that lives inside YouTube — scrape comments, monitor channels, and download videos without leaving the tab.

How to Install

Download the Extension ZIP
Get chrome-extension.zip from the Downloads page.

Extract the ZIP
Unzip to a permanent folder, e.g. C:\YouTube-Tools\extension

Enable Developer Mode
Go to chrome://extensions and toggle Developer Mode on (top-right).

Load Unpacked
Click Load Unpacked and select the extracted extension folder.

Open YouTube
Visit youtube.com — the ExportYT sidebar icon appears in your Chrome toolbar.

Installation Steps

Download the Installer
Get install-yt-scraper-64bit.exe from Downloads.

Run as Administrator
Right-click → Run as Administrator to install all components correctly.

Follow the Setup Wizard
Accept license, choose path, let Python dependencies install (~1–2 min).

Launch from Start Menu
Find YouTube Comment Scraper in Start Menu or use the desktop shortcut.

(Optional) Install Chrome Bridge
Run install_bridge.bat as Administrator to enable browser-triggered downloads.
